Clifford and Mikie is a husband and wife pair working in collaboration with a common goal of realizing a journey together in love and art. Clifford hails from a background in advertising and brings to the table a whimsical perspective in approaching art, whereas Mikie has been an artist far longer and approaches art with spectrum of emotional hues. Together they form a pair which brings to life the phrase “opposites attract” and more.
Title of work: Nio + Mie
Nio + Mie is created based on parables of a couple in love and what they experience in a variety of shades. We are each others playthings and as such the representation of companionship in this collection comes in the form of toys. We all have our favorite toy and we care for them in an un-biased, unique way and they bring us comfort and consolation. There are times when even our favorite toy cannot bring us cheer or make us forget pain but until the end of our journey in this life, we never forget the joy they brought us.
