Tuan Nini is in the middle of her fine art studies in Bucharest, Romania.
But in the mean time, she's working as a concept artist in an animation house.
She finds it embarassing yet undeniable, the fact that the reason she started drawing was Sailormoon.
Although she probably tried drawing Doraemon before she could properly hold together a pinch of rice with her fingers.
On many days, Nini likes to be out of the house with friends, play pool badly, and time travel with a music spaceship.
Art description:
Nini's re-occuring objective in mind while producing illustrations is to evoke feelings within the viewer. A lot of them are inspired by wordplay and music tracks. When asked why she likes to draw primarily female figures, she answers by saying that she is herself is one, and this gives a more direct connection between her and her subjects. There is an extent of romanticised sadness, presented in a passionate, sometimes sexual context in her works. ''Sometimes I feel I'm being too self-indulgent,'' she regularly says. But she's as regular as anybody else, so perhaps it's not so impossible for people to relate to her art after all.
