Artwork Title: Bicycles and Escapades
Ragazza 88 was formed by our mutual love for doing things together (sama-sama) and bicycles. Escapades in the dictionary means "a daring or adventurous act, often one that is disapproved of by others". We feel that this describes Ragazza 88 activities and background very well. Moreover, it seems that for girls in Malaysia to cycle is a very "dangerous" thing, as we've been always told by a lot of folks and sometimes in some of our own experiences with sexual harassment while cycling etc. Despite that, we have never given up our love because for some of us, it is our means for transportation and mobility which translates freedom. Since this exhibition highlights the 'travelling' concept, we find it apt to share our views and expressions about our favourite mode of travelling as well as our experiences in our bike adventures together.
