LAPAR LAb (Local Artist Performing Arts Region) was founded by Low Shee Hoe, Leng Poh Gee and Louise Yow Sing Hwa since April 2006. “LAPAR” literally means hungry or desire in the Malay language. It indicates the serious aspiration and strong cordiality to the artistic creation and promotion of performing arts. LAPAR Lab’s previous acclaimed productions include ‘Triangular Prism’ (2010), ‘Contact’ (2009), ‘Tan Tiao Ban’ (2008), ‘Technatomy’ (2007) and ‘The Dying Eyes’ (2006).

Description: Graduation is a significant ceremony of receiving or conferring an academic degree, where students become graduates. At the same time when we are doing this particular performance, a batch of new graduates of Dance Degree from University of Malaya is celebrating their graduation. I sincerely dedicated this performance to those who are ready to embark upon the dance society and wish them luck.
Choreographers:
Kathyn Tan Chai Chen: Graduated from University of Technology of Malaysia in management course in 2001, Kathyn is a contemporary dancer and stage performer. She has involved in theatrical performance and dance education programs. She has been an active member in Kwang Tung Dance Company since 2005. IN 2006, she formed children theatre called ‘Little Eyes Play House’ in which she begged the Best Actress in the 7th ADA Drama Awards.
Leng Poh Gee: Hailing from Kelantan, he holds a Master of Arts and Bachelor of Science. He works as tutor of Dance Program in University Malaya, and teaches Labanotation and dance techniques. Trained in modern contemporary dance, he has extensive professional experience besides proving to be sought-after administrative and behind-the-scenes crew local and abroad.
